Yeah... i've just turned 21 last September 25.. My first celebration of my Bday is with my Tita Cory, Tita Doty and Tito Ramon from USA.. I thought i'll not celebrate my bday during that day,, Buy my Tita called me na nandito sila sa Cebu.. That's why i celebrated my bday with them.. and also with my brother and sister.. We just had a simple dinner.. Thanks to them,,,, I enjoyed it so much,,

SIMALA: pilgrim's paradise

The Monastery of the Holy Eucharist is a church in Sibonga for the Marian devotees. The church is very popular among believers not only because it is considered the home of the image of the miraculous Virgin but also because the place is truly amazing and stunning. The Monastery is the place where the ‘Mga Monghe ni Maria’[Monks of Mary] live.


Last Sunday Aug 24, i went to Simala with my fellow in-chickers and Uysiuseng Family(DM, MS,ZED). I first heard about this place from college friends (im not really a Cebuano), saying this is the best venue where they can repent their sins.

Just Stand Up - An All Star Single for Cancer Patients

Check out the new all-star charity single “Just Stand Up” as recorded by 15 of the most well-known singers including Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood, Beyonce and Mary J. Blige in line with the upcoming “Stand Up for Cancer” telethon on September 5, 2008.

Maria Sharapova wont play for Beijing Olympics and US Open.

Sharapova pulls out of Olympics

Maria Sharapova will miss the Beijing Olympics because of a right shoulder injury.

The three-time Grand Slam singles champion said on her Web site Thursday that an MRI exam and other medical tests showed she has two small tears in tendons in her shoulder.

The right-handed Sharapova pulled out of the WTA tournament in Montreal because of the shoulder on Wednesday night — after winning a nearly three-hour match in which she double-faulted a whopping 17 times.

She was examined by a trainer midway through the three-set victory.

"After yesterday's match, I knew there was something seriously wrong with my shoulder," Sharapova said in a posting on her Web site under the headline: "No chance of me competing in Beijing."

The Aug. 11-17 Olympic tennis tournament lost another top player earlier Thursday, when 2006 Australian Open runner-up Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus withdrew because of a wrist injury.

Others who won't play in Beijing for various reasons include past Grand Slam singles champions Andy Roddick, Amelie Mauresmo and Mary Pierce.

Sharapova has been bothered off-and-on by her right shoulder for some time, and she pulled out of a tournament in March because of it.

"This is something that needs a lot of time to heal, which really hurts me to say that I have to miss the Olympics," she said on the Web site Thursday. "I'm currently packing up really quick to hop on the plane and head to (New York) for a second opinion, but I wanted to let all of you know first that there's no chance of me competing in Beijing. The timing is so unfortunate and this makes me more sad than anything."

Sharapova was briefly ranked No. 1 this season and is currently No. 3.

By skipping the Olympics, she will have more time to rest ahead of the U.S. Open, the year's last Grand Slam tournament, which begins Aug. 25.

Sharapova says she’ll miss US Open after Olympics


Maria Sharapova will sit out the U.S. Open because of a bad right shoulder, the first major championship she’ll miss since her Grand Slam debut in 2003.

The three-time Grand Slam title winner already had announced she’s pulling out of the Beijing Olympics because of the injury. Sharapova said in a posting on her Web site Friday she probably won’t need surgery and could be ready to play in two to three months.

“It hurts me so much to miss the Olympics and the U.S. Open, you have no idea,” she said. “Just to type those words hurt!!”

In a sport that often sees top players sidelined by injury, the No. 3-ranked Sharapova has played in each of the past 23 major tournaments, winning championships at Wimbledon in 2004, the U.S. Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in January.

She would have been counted among the main contenders at this year’s U.S. Open, which begins in New York on Aug. 25.

But a doctor who looked at tests on her shoulder from April and this week told Sharapova she has been playing with that tendon tear in her shoulder since the spring.

“He actually couldn’t believe that I’ve been playing this long with this injury. You can imagine that I was not very thrilled to hear that my medical team did not see this tear in my shoulder back in April,” she said. “The good news is that it didn’t get much worse since April, but we could have started the healing time back then instead of now.”

Sharapova will go to Arizona to work with a specialist for rehab and strength work.

“Now I need to move forward and stay positive,” she said. “I am going to work hard to get healthy.”

Sharapova is 32-4 with three titles in 2008, and she briefly was ranked No. 1. The 21-year-old Russian has become one of tennis’ biggest stars, with millions of dollars in endorsement deals.

She pulled out of a tournament in Montreal because of the shoulder on Wednesday night—after winning a nearly three-hour match in which she double-faulted 17 times. Sharapova then had a series of tests on her shoulder and said Thursday she wouldn’t compete in Beijing.

“Once I’m healthy, I’m sure I’ll look at this as a blessing in disguise,” she said Friday. “Right now it’s a bit painful, of course, but every athlete goes through these patches and I’m just grateful that this isn’t as bad as it could have been.”

Going Home



There’s no place like home. Yeah. Its good to be back at my province. After a year staying in Cebu, i will stay in my province for a week only. Hehehe. I miss everything in our province, the people, trees, our dogs, my father’s plants, my mom’s flowers and esp the fresh air. Hehehe. But I will be back in Cebu right away ‘coz I have to continue filing in PRC and review for the coming nursing board exam.

nicole's victory party at kaona grill


I went to Kaona Grill last night to celebrate our princess Nicole's victory party. I've never been there before but I am familiar with the place. I was impressed with the interior and dining area. It's cool.

Anyway, i was with my friends solid in-chickers. We decorated the place and prepared a lot for this victory party. We are so thankful with DM and MS (nicole's parent) 'coz they were so very supportive. The foods were good and I really eat a lot? lols.

The victory party was very successful. We made our princess Nicole happy.

This is one of the best documentaries I have seen. Well-researched and well-narrated. Good job ABS-CBN and Probe Productions especially Ms. Cheche Lazaro for this wonderful work. =)

I am still very proud to be Filipino..it's just sad to know that while some us work very hard just so we can raise our flag a little bit higher,some just don't care, doing things that are counter-productive. If I'm not mistaken, what we see in museums is just 30% of the total amount of items found. Those people didn't just sell our heritage, but the heritage of every proud Filipino who has ever lived, currently living and who's yet to live, and for what? Temporary wealth? It's a tragedy.

Orosa Nakpil-Malate



I read this book few days ago. Some of my Mensroom friends already read this book and they told me to read also the book. So, I did. I finished it in 4 hours.

It was really different from other philippine literature that i have read. This book reminds us to have a safe sex and a clear picture on the nature of sexually transmitted disease.
I really had a nice time reading this book…undeniably, this is one of the best book that i have read. I laughed, I cried, I was inspired(sabi ko nga sa sarili ko, sana makahanap din ako tulad ni Ross. hehehe).

Yeah.. hindi pinipili ng pag-ibig kung sino, ano, paano, gaano ang mag mahal..

love of ross to dave was really inspiring..

my fave part of the book: the hospital scene.. nagkita muli si dave at ross... i was at work when i read this book..but i cant stop crying... huhuhuhu..

i’ve really learned a lot..whenever i read it over and over again, it still gives me the creeps.the plot was very good, so was the writer. ^^.

NICOLE FOR BIG WINNER

I am a Cebuano, but I am tempted to answer this question.

I was surprised myself when Josef said that Ejay is his big winner. But I have a strong feeling that if he was asked his 2nd winner, it would be Nicole. Josef must have realized that Big Winners do not have a career in showbiz (except for Kim Chiu). And that Ejay needs the prize more than Nicole. Brains - she graduated salutatorian from Southcrest, an elite school in Cebu where only the best young minds can enter. She topped mental exams inside the house - e.g. geography and driving theory. She is perceptive and analytical, she perfectly knew how Shy tried to judge her, to make her jealous, which she did not bite; she analyzed how Robi tried to put the world's problems on his shoulders, and initiated an open forum to release the load and pent up feelings. She passed the college entrance exams in the best universities of the Philippines - UP, Ateneo, La Salle. She knows that PBB is trying to test the character of the HMs so the whole country would know them better. There are many instances where being smart is not only the domain of Rona and Robi - she is not just the showy type - but I can't write a novel here.

Sincerity / honesty / genuine demeanor - she is just being herself, not pretentious, does not harbor hate, not vindictive, and has opened up her shell from the previous image of being shy and silent. She is true with her feelings - walang kyime with what she feels and honest by telling the whole world about it. She is loyal, has never put a friend down, and took her nominations in a cool and calm manner. She is honest and truthful with her emotions and is brave enough to tell people about it. She is humble, does not brag about her accomplishments, very soft spoken and tactful.

Independence in the midst of conservatism - she has learned to stand on her principles despite the strong conservative values of her mother.

Beauty - no one can deny that ... very telegenic, photogenic ... and when the cameras focus on her .... her beauty exudes even when irate, sad, happy, or confused. And Valerie must have felt so insecure!

Brawns - she is sports-minded. She is a volleyball varsity player in high school, a good swimmer, and an outstanding athlete in her school.

She comes from a family that is very hardworking ... a working middle class family that realizes that it takes sweat and tears to be able to live decently and comfortably. In real life, Nicole has absorbed these values.

There so many things that I admire in Nicole ... but I don't have the luxury of time and space to write them all here. I saw them all on TV.

Sharapova failed to overcome big-hitting Safina.

The No1 seed Maria Sharapova was dumped out of the French Open today by fellow Russian Dinara Safina, losing 7-6 (8-6), 6-7 (5-7), 2-6 in a closely fought fourth-round encounter.

Sharapova was discomfited throughout by Safina's deep hitting and struggled to put her game together in wet conditions. She initially emerged the stronger after a one-hour rain delay but lost the next two sets, repeatedly voicing her frustration as the French crowd rallied for the underdog.

After exchanging breaks of serve in the seventh and eight games, the first set went to a tie break in which No12 seed Safina squandered key opportunities. An unforced Sharapova error on the forehand gifted the No13 seed two set-points at 6-4. But Sharapova responded with an audacious drop shot to save the first and won the mini-break back in the next, her heavy hitting forcing Safina to place a backhand in the net to take it to 6-6. A forehand winner from Sharapaova moved her to set point on her own serve and she sealed the tie break 8-6.

If disappointed, Safina swiftly overcame it, breaking the world No1 in the first game of the second set. The spitting rain then strengthened to a downpour and when the players returned to court after an hour's delay, Safina saved a break point before stretching her lead to 2-0.

Sharapova rediscovered her forehand return in the fourth game of the set, setting up three break points. A frustrated Safina saved the first but could do nothing to stop a blistering return winner down the line at 15-40. Sharapova held her serve to edge ahead 3-2 - but only after Safina had wasted a chance to win another break point at 30-30, a wild forehand relieving the pressure on her opponent.

Safina then double-faulted at 30-30 in her next service game and Sharapova took advantage, sending a backhand winner down the line after manoeuvring her opponent out of position with some punishing groundstrokes. Sharapova served out her next service game to love, stretching her lead to 5-2 in the second set.

Sharapova served for the match at 5-3 but a resurgent Safina saved match point with a searing backhand and then fashioned a break-point opportunity at deuce through the gentlest of drop volleys. Another forehand error from Sharapova put Safina back in the match at 5-4. The 22-year-old held her serve to make it 5-5.

Another tie-break beckoned and as the sun finally began to shine in Paris, Sharapova's pressure looked likely to prove the difference. She secured the mini-break at 3-2, following up an aggressive return with a sensational drop shot to leave her fellow Russian floundering and facing defeat. An unforced error from Safina looked to have ended things at 5-2. But Sharapova double-faulted at 5-3 to offer Safina hope and the lower seed Russian held serve twice to edge ahead 6-5. Sharapova's cross-court backhand hit the net cord and sailed out to hand her opponent the second set.

Safina was soon playing catch-up again, losing her opening service game of the third set, but immediately broke back to love. The crowd flocked back to Court Suzanne Lenglen as an upset looked on the cards. Sharapova netted a giveaway forehand at 15-15 in the sixth game of the set and then a cross-court forehand on the run handed Safina two break points. Sharapova saved both, ending a long rally with a winning forehand on the line to take it to deuce. She then salvaged a third, but Safina made no mistake with a fourth opportunity to take a 4-2 lead. She held comfortably to stretch her lead to 5-2 and broke a visibly shattered Sharapova again to win the final set 6-2.

mother's day

Last May 11, we just celebrate mother's day. A day which we give honor to our mother, celebrated in various days in many places around the world. In Philippines, we celebrate it on second sunday of May.

We usually give cakes and flowers. Or spend time with our mom like going mall, having lunch or dinner with family, hugs and kisses. and it's common for us to say great things about our mom.. so here's my thoughts:

My mom is such a wonderful lady I've ever met. She's really one of the best and coolest mom in the whole world.

But sad to say, my mom is miles away from me.. huhuhuhu.. i miss my mom so much... 4 years na kami hindi nakapag celebrate ng mother's day with her.. she really work hard for us.

a mother's love is like an island in life's ocean vast and wide.

we should love our mom so much.. hugs them, kiss them, say to them you love her everyday....

Moving On

Don't be pressured! for some it takes weeks, for some, months. for some, years! of course no one likes the pain that a broken heart brings. (its pain like no other ! ouccch super sakit!) but, you have to go through it. there is no short cut, there is no other way. go through it. go and let it out. cry before you sleep, cry when you wake up, cry in the bathroom, cry to your friends. lock yourself in the room, stay in bed all day, don't talk to anyone for hours, make senti all you want. do it all. don't let anybody stop you. (but don't let it get way in the way of school or work or the things you have to do either. okay? okay?) feel all those yucky, disgusting, heart-shattering feelings, curl it all up into this unbelievably sad ball, and one day, when you are ready, throw it out in the window. it will happen for you. i know you feel it won't, that the day you will be okay will never come, but it will. have faith, it will.

let me stop at this point and end by saying that I've felt all those feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness that you might be feeling right now. and, honestly, so have thousands, and millions of other people around you. it sucks. it really does. but hey! nobody said that it would be easy, but nobody said that you have do it alone.

graduation


My school years have all passed away. Yeah! 4 years of eating nails, sleepless nights, depression? (hahaha) finally, graduate na! im a nursing graduate from the University of San Carlos College of Nursing. Surely, i will miss making assignments, studying for a short quiz tomorrow, NPCs, case studies, drug studies and etc..hehe.. College years has been so great. I've sweat and tears a gallons. Ive learn a lot.. and now, im so excited to be a future REGISTERED NURSE.

i will miss my friends and classmates especially my dutymates so much. we've been together for 4 years. and now we will separate our ways and its not really that easy.

i will also miss my Clinical instructors and my school and to the people who helped me. hahaaaaaayy

but wow. seeing my family smiling. it was such a great feeling. i really received my diploma with pride. thanks so much to my mama and papa, for helping me achieving my dreams. you're the best parents in the whole world.

i really have a colorful life during my school years. i promise to myself, i will really try my best to be a successful nurse and to stay humble and continue helping people.

my graduation day was really memorable. a lot of emotions. i smile, i cried, and scared? yeah.. mixed emotions..

Moalboal Escapade

Wow! Its summer time. Well moalboal experience was my second summer escapade. The first one was in Tuburan. It was a night swimming pool party with my duty group mates.

Last April 2-3, (thanks dhez and to your family for inviting me) getting ready for the summer heat, white sand, tanned look and everything. Moalboal here i come.

We stayed 2 days and half. Moalboal has nice beaches where you can swim and dive. It was one of the best and nicest diving site.

Located at the west coast of Cebu, nestles a humble little town of Moalboal, and three kilometers from the town center, is the sleepy coastal village of Panagsama beach, homing to a small community of unexploited locals and friendly foreign divers. Moalboal is known for diving yet accomodation and food is affordable.

Moalboal’s exciting dive sites made it an extraordinary diving destination in the Visayas. Apart from its unique location and its lovely people, visiting divers usually get magnetized by the staggering life form decking out the inclined wall right by the shore of Panagsama beach. The dive starts at the beach, heading straight down to a recepting beauty of stunning hard and soft corals, anemones and sponges hosting thousands of inhabiting tropical fishes.

Another point of interest is Pescador Island Marine park. It is a shallow reef that shelters lively dancing gorgonians, fan corals and sharks such as whitetip and hammerheads. These are stunning sights that famed Moalboal to divers from around the world.

As a little town by the west coast of Cebu Island, Moalboal can be easily reached by either renting a bike or taking a bus or jeepney from the center of Cebu.
